Sewer Commission Minutes
Village of Poplar
April 14th, 2009
Meeting called to order at 6:00 pm by chairman Doug Stanley
In attendance was Doug Stanley, Bob Bergsten, Randy Jones and Jim Tollas

SPEAKERS: none
OPERATOR’S REPORT: Brad Nelson reported that the numbers were very good last month and all the equipment is in good working condition as of now. The generator pumped out manholes on Bayfield. The valves have been exercised. Brad reported that the pond road is in need of gravel.
Brad reported that the fire department went through the confined space training but it was somewhat a waste of time. Nobody can legally go into any holes until they have had hundreds of hours or training. After some discussion as to what is involved to become certified Brad and Randy will look into the matter further and see if it is even a possibility.

Operation and Maintenance (after this months checks) $ 2,874.41
Cash Reserve Account $ 32,771.34
Debt Service Account $ 5,894.44
Equipment and Repair $ 1,245.82
CLERK’S REPORT – none
OLD BUSINESS:
Approval of Minutes: Bob Bergsten made a motion to accept the minutes. Randy Jones seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Payment of Bills: Jim Tollas made a motion to pay the bills. Randy Jones seconded the motion. Motion Carried.
NEW BUSINESS: Leo Naumann’s yard – Doug will get some bids on the yard and get it
done.
Braun Pump and Controls sent the sewer a contract for maintenance checks on the pump lift stations on a annual basis. The cost for this service would be $75.00 per station. A motion was made by Randy Jones to have Braun Pumps do an annual check in the fall of every year on the sewer lift stations. The motion was seconded by Jim Tollas. Motion Carried
ADJOURN: Jim Tollas made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Randy Jones seconded the motion. Motion Carried. Meeting was adjourned at 6:35 pm.
