Sewer Commission Minutes
Village of Poplar
August 11th, 2009
Meeting called to order at 6:00 pm by chairman Doug Stanley
In attendance were Doug Stanley, Bob Bergsten, Randy Jones and Jim Tollas

SPEAKERS: none
OPERATOR’S REPORT: Brad Nelson reported that the pump in lift station #1 needs work. Brad will be pulling the pump by the end of the week to see what may need to be done to get it in working condition. The county hit the manhole cover on Lakeview and P. Discussion regarding marking the manholes. Brad reported that he has flushed the line on Elm Road and we should be expecting a bill from Mark Allen for calibrating the samples.
Doug Stanley talked to MSA and reported that they still do not have an exact on the easements.
FINANCIAL REPORTS:
Operation and Maintenance (after this months checks) $ 5,467.91
Cash Reserve Account $ 34,243.63
Debt Service Account $ 3,029.11
Equipment and Repair $ 1,246.66
CLERK’S REPORT – none
OLD BUSINESS:
Approval of Minutes: Bob Bergsten made a motion to accept the minutes. Randy Jones seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Payment of Bills: Jim Tollas made a motion to pay the bills. Bob Bergsten seconded the motion. Motion Carried.
Doug Stanley explained to the bard the sewer account that he has opened at the bank with the money he has received from the corps. He is currently working with Paul Stafford to try and get some money from the school to help pay the expenses that are coming in.
Discussion regarding Steve Bergsten’s sewer compliance. Doug has composed a letter to Steve regarding his hooking up to the sewer and would like to have the commissioners agree to send the letter. A motion was made by Randy Jones to send a registered letter to Steve regarding his compliance with the sewer rules. The motion was seconded by Jim Tollas. Motion Carried. A discussion regarding the ladies on Bayfield who have not hooked up to the sewer as of yet ensued and a motion was made by Jim Tollas to send a letter to the ladies requesting their compliance with the sewer rules. The motion was seconded by Randy Jones. Motion carried.
ADJOURN: Randy Jones made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Bob Bergsten seconded the motion. Motion Carried. Meeting was adjourned at 6:25 pm.
